“What Happened Last Winter” on WBAI’s “Talk-Back” Program, March 17, 2011
“Earth Day Keynote” at Volunteers for Peace Earth Day Event and Q&A, April 21, 2012
“Annual Winter Forecast 2011” at WBAI on Ken Gale’s Eco-Logic Show, 12-13-2011
“Annual Winter Forecast 2012” at WBAI on Ken Gale’s Eco-Logic Show, 11-27-2012
The first 8 minutes are music and news, then Peter Rugh describes how the Occupy Movement rose to the challenge of assisting in the Hurricane Sandy aftermath - a most worthwhile transitional endeavor!!!
My Hurricane “review” and 2012-13 Winter forecast begins at 15:30 into the broadcast and runs for the remaining 45 minutes.
“Annual Winter Forecast 2013” at WBAI on Ken Gale’s Eco-Logic Show, 11-26-2013
The 2013-14 Winter forecast begins at 11:20 into the broadcast and talks about sharply colder periods (very much so) and warm spikes too, with much more snow than usual. Jet Stream undulation is covered in detail, and its underlying causes. In mid-January, the White House Science Advisor, John Holdren, explained the record cold weather of December and January and used many of the same details in his explanation. Here’s the White House videoclip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5eDTzV6a9F4
Whats the difference between the two? Not much, as the White House clip correctly explains things, except that the WBAI broadcast gave the information in November, BEFORE it happened, predicting the events instead of just explaining them after they happened!!!
“Annual Winter Forecast 2014” at WBAI on Ken Gale’s Eco-Logic Show, 11-25-2014
This year’s broadcast again begins with environmentally oriented music and news, and has listener audience participation too. My portion begins at 11:30 in the broadcast. Charlie Olsen’s Environmental TV also recorded it, and a link to edited videoclips will follow when it becomes available.

“Annual Winter Forecast 2016” at WBAI on Ken Gale’s Eco-Logic Show, 11-22-2016
Click on the gray text to listen! This year’s broadcast again begins with environmentally oriented music and news - my forecast portion begins at 17:15 into the program. Now the neat thing this year, is that I was privileged by having been in China from October’s end until just before the show. As a result, I was able to benefit immensely from insight gained while there!!! I was attending the “World Congress on Oceans” in Qingdao, China and I was honored to have chaired the Oceanographic section of this massive event. But flying nearly over the North Pole on the way there, I saw miles and miles of open water alongside the north Siberian coast, and total (early) snow-cover inland off the coast.
By the time I reached the NYU Shanghai campus facility to deliver a climate and Oceanographic oriented talk, the October records for northeastern China were available, showing that they experienced the coldest October on record!!! This (as you’ll hear) formed a significant part of my 2016 Winter forecast!
The Torresol GemmaSolar facility between Granada and Seville (330 days of sun/yr) in Spain, mentioned in the forecast. Heliostats (computer controlled mirrors) focus sunlight on the center pylon that contains molten Sulfur at over 1000 degrees Fahrenheit used to generate steam and uninterrupted electrical power

New York City Council Hearing Testimony of October 23, 2014
I had a chance to testify (under oath, of course) at the New York City Council’s Committee on Environmental protection. The proposal under consideration was to amend the administrative code of the City of New York to reduce greenhouse gases generated within the city by 80% by mid century. About 75 people spoke out on the issues.
I was the only one complaining about the metrics. In a nutshell, I lauded them for doing the right thing for the wrong reasons. Their programs will result in substantial energy usage savings but in using CO2 as a yardstick, they measure the wrong things, and cannot affect either climate or weather.
This intro is contained within my written testimony that follows in the link attached below:
People who will read this are Greener than Green, Redder than Red, and Bluer than Blue. This is not about the politics, but using data appropriate to things measured!!!
